In Memory
Lieutenant Clarence O. Watson II.
January 25, 1973 - November 29, 2008
Lieutenant Watson began his career with the Hematite Fire Protection District in 2004 as a Paid-On-Call Firefighter.  In November of 2007, Clarence was promoted to a Full-Time Firefighter, and then again promoted to Lieutenant in April of 2008.  During the early hours of November 29, 2008, Lt. Watson collapsed at his home of an apparent cardiac arrest.  Lt. Watson had been on several emergencies calls within 12 hours of his passing.

Lt. Watson is survived by his parents, a son, two sisters, and a brother, Jason, who is a Paid-On-Call Firefighter with the District.

Lt. Watson's dedicated service to the District was honored on both the state and federal levels, and his name was placed on Memorial walls in Kingdom City, MO and Emmitsburg, MD.

Lt. Watson is greatly missed by all those who had the great pleasure of knowing him.

"See you on the big one, buddy"

Investigator Robert "Jake" Jacobsen
June 30, 1933 - December 7, 2007

"Jake" was an investigator with the Missouri Division of Fire Safety, and was an incredible asset and pleasure to have on a fire scene.  Jake succumbed peacefully to his battle with cancer at his home with his family by his side.  Investigators like Jake are ones that make Firefighters better at doing and understanding their jobs.

You will be greatly missed.
